Matched Betting Banter #3

Hello and welcome to Matched Betting Banter Part 3, bringing you more of the lighter side of Matched Betting. This installment brings stories of racing course chaos and content thefts.

Who turned off the lights?

Back in November while arbing away on Skybet I was following the live text feed from Racing Post when it appeared the racing track had a powercut. The novelty from this wasnt so much the thought of horses racing around in the dark but more from whoever was at the course writing the live text feed decided to write whatever came to mind in this rare opportunity to free-style.

Everything going well until the 2F marker…

The commentator, clearly used to just repeating the same race update phrases over and over does their best to keep us updating with a blow-by-blow account..

Hang on, What’s this…? False alarm

Still the chaos continues for another 10 minutes. Eventually they have to start driving cars onto the course to see what’s going on

The lights are off and no-one knows what’s going on

Eventually the race was voided and everyone left in darkness.

The Loophole

I recently posted a loophold in the Matched Betting Guys & Girls Facebook group:

Clearly the marketing department had selected a Christmas themed slot for the free spins giveaway without realising the minimum spin value! This was going to result in some very expensive payouts for anyone who got lucky and managed to get through the wagering.

Mistakes like this tend to not last very long once word gets out among too many people. The biggest risk is that total beginners start piling in on brand new accounts and jump onto Live Chat to confirm various aspects of the ‘offer’ which alerts the company to the potential mistake/loophole. So, you can imagine my annoyance… with a hint of laughter.. upon seeing my post copied word-for-word on one of the biggest beginner groups:

She even included the warning about big freebie groups!

And they didn’t even have the decency to give me credit! 😀

What was funnier though is reading the comments that unfolded as people began arguing about whether a loophole should be posted in a huge beginner group… particularly the same beginner group who thought it a good idea to make a Youtube video about the last loophole they stole.

I thought this chap summed things up nicely, just a shame one of the group moderators took offence and banned him:

Finally one of the site admins jumped in to offer their comments while completely missing the boat:

You see; the bookies often have long delays before they process withdrawls so it absoloutly does matter if it’s spotted and pulled before people have been paid out. Moron.

It wasn’t long until the prophecy was fulfilled and someone went on Live Chat. RIP to this loophole and Merry Christmas to you all!
