Cheltenham Festival Matched Betting Profits

Cheltenham Festival Matched Betting Profits

Cheltenham Festival 2018 draws to a close, and what a week it was! I took the week off work to really hammer the offers out over the festival and I’m so glad I did! Most of the week was flat out Matched Betting almost non-stop from 9 – 6 every day and I’ve still got a few free bets to use up after.

Over the Cheltenham Festival 2018 week I made about £2100 worth of profit. It was hard work but well worth it! For me the most profitable offers were:

William Hill Boosts

Willaim Hill were generous to offer an odds boost for every race at the festival with a £200 max bet. This made it extremely easy to pickup some awesome arbs and was particularly profitable when underlaying and combining the Smarkets 0% comission offer they ran.

Typically the boost would be from something like 7 to 7.9. So £200 on that with a full underlay was worth £180 profit should the horse win.. and £0 loss if it didn’t. William Hill also pay out Best Odds so a few of these winners were boosted further.

Bet365 £50 Freebet

Bet365 surprised everyone last weekend when they started sending out ‘Bet £50 get £50’ every day of the festival. This was an easy £40 per day profit with very little work.
What made this offer even better was that you could combine it with their 4/1 Refund offer. If either your qualifing or free bet won at odds of 5.0 or more they would give you a free £50 bet on the next race. Keep picking winners and they kept stringing on free bets!

2nd Place Refunds

These offers should be the absolout bread and butter for any experienced matched bettor. A number of sites did this offer on various races which allowed me to cover alot of the low odds horses and almost guarantee at least 1 refund on every race that took part. Values ranged from £10-£50 in free bets for each site.

How was your Cheltenham Festival?

  1. Nice!

My total was £1500. Which considering my monthly average is roughly £250 this was a massive week for me.

Agree with the Bet365 offer made an awful lot off that.

I also made quite a bit from the money back if you lose offers – by luck really – because I bet a few without laying with the intention of getting 80% on the free bet if it loses, and luckily a few came in.

Great week, now taking a little break before back to the normal grind.

Just hoping I don’t get a string of gubbing emails next week!

  2. Hello mate, I’ve been following your blogs for about a few months now and you really inspired me to get into MB so I finally took the decision to get into it properly and so far I’ve made anout £1,000 since I started mid Feb. I think I made about 500/600 over cheltenham which I also took the week off following your advice!

The things I need to get better at is the 2nd places offer and the extra places which are really hard to get the hang off!! Keep the good work going and who knows we might catch up at some point.

  3. You sure had a great Cheltenham! Congrats!

I made £365+ over the 4 days. I took smaller guaranteed profits on the William Hill Price Boosts. Hit a couple of winners so maybe I should have underlayed like yourself.

My intention was just to make as much guaranteed profit as quickly as possible.

I don’t have the lucrative account of Bet365.

  4. Hi Guy,

I keep checking back from time to time, first post here. Considering I had a busy week at work. Myself and a few “friends” made about £400 over the whole thing, that’s just from the night before type offers.

Onto my main question, I’m out the house from 7.30 -6 every day. I have a few friends helping me out along the way and a substantial bank.
I had a couple of good months but recently the changes to the casino offers have really made me hesitate as I don’t want to get the rug pulled out of me on a losing run.
What are you thoughts on this?

Also, I am not making anything like I used to these days. I am a member of profit maximiser and just doing the calendar offers would net me an easy £500 a month. Now I’m lucky to get this just with the high risk casino stuff.
How do you manage working full time and getting through a decent enough volume of offers?…and manage to have some sort of life in the evenings.
I enjoy matched betting but it’s starting to feel like I’m scraping around for the odd £5 here and there, it’s barely covering my mifi costs 🙂

Thanks and congratulations on your success, I hope to emulate it!

    1. Hello Mike, long time lurker first time poster 😉 Some excellent questions.
£400 tax free cash is nothing to be sniffed at, even better that you managed it around the normal full time job.

Personally I think most of the casino bonus money offers have dropped quite dramatically in value. I now avoid most of those type and instead make a decent return on the many wager-free spins currently going around. It’s not unsual to hit £10+ wins on these 10 or 30-seconds worth of free spins being offered by the likes of William Hill and Grosvenor casino.

If you’re active on the Profit Maximiser group there’s a good chance we’ve encountered eachother already. I’m getting huge value from the price boosts. I underlay making them 0 risk but bigger profit if the bet wins. With friends this can be especially lucrative and provides a near constant stream of £20-£50 ‘booms’ throughout the week.

Really there’s no secret to increasing your profits. You need to do at least 1 of 3 things:

      – High risk casino
      – Hit as many low risk daily calendar offers as possible
      – Get more friends

  5. Am a UK resident , but currently left UK for studies in China. I have all the documents to verify my account but the problem now is that bookies wont accept deposit from me through paypal even when i use VPN . I need a guide pls. i dnt want to miss out on matched betting any longer .
    Cheers

    1. Hi Bona,

First issue is going to be that you need a UK registered address. Also I’m not familiar with Chinese law but you need to check that online gambling is legal in that country. Finally VPns tend to have a small pool of IP addresses which makes it easy for the bookie to spot that you’re using a VPN and potentially gies you the same IP as another player which raises a false multi-account flag.

Personally I don’t think it’s going to be possible to do this effectivly from abroad using a VPN. The only way which might be possible would be to use team viewer or something to remote control a computer physically located back in the UK.

  6. Hi Guy,

Are you still doing the WH walk-in odds boost? I’ve done today’s, managed to get to two shops in time. Here’s hoping!

    1. Hi Michael,

Yes, almost every lunch break I’ll hit the two William Hills near my office. It’s easy money and a bit of exercise too!
