What can you do during the quiet months?

There’s no denying that many matched-bettors are struggling at the moment. With the end of the football season and no major internation tournaments on this year it has been incredibly slim pickings for those of us not diving into the very high-risk casino offers. Saying that, there’s still a few things you can be getting on with in this temporary lull:

New account signup offers

I’ll be the first to admit that I hate doing new account signups. I’ve no idea why, because they are the most risk free of all offers and you can calculate exactly how much each is going to be worth.. however it’s just something about the endless form filling and inevitable ID checks which totally put me off doing new account signup offers. I’m particularly switched off by any of them which require you to “Place 4 x £25 bets” etc before you get the freebie, that a load of faff!

But that’s not to say you should ignore even the most complicated signups. The real profit to be made in matched betting is through the reload offers which are emailed to you and come up during major sporting events. Because of this you’ll need to have all of your accounts already set up and passed any ID checks before the start of a new football season and major horse racing festival. The quiet summer period is the perfect time to start this. I’ve listed some over on the Free Bets page, but there’s also a whole host of smaller bookies you can hit just for the initial signups.

Some of the smaller ones:

Mobile Bet £10 for £10

SportPesa Bet £10 for £10

Dabble Bet £25 risk free

RedArmyBet Bet £10 get £30

Re-trigger the Gamesys offers

I’ve no idea how Gamesys haven’t gone bankrupt due to their extremely generous nature, but we’ll keep taking advantage until they do! If you’ve already done the Gamesys signup offers (risk free casino) then you can also trigger a set of “Welcome back” offers which are nearly identical to the initial sign-up ones. To do this you need to have not played on the site for at least a month or two. Then log back in, deposit £10 and spin £1 worth on the slots. This won’t work all of the time on all of the sites however from my own experience it will trigger on around 2 or 3 out of the 6 sites with HeartBingo, JackpotJoy and Virgin Games being the most likely.

When the offer triggers you’ll get a pop-up advising that you’re due a set of 3 Welcome Back offers. These are always:

  • x% cashback on losses (ignore this one)
  • Spin £x for 3 days to earn £y (Do your spins on roulette)
  • Deposit £x for £y (This is with-drawable cash! Just deposit the maximum amount and then withdraw the lot!)

Clean up those accounts

Even with the best record keeping it’s still very likely you’ll have left some cash lying around forgotten about in a bookie account somewhere. Typically if you don’t use an account for a year then the bookie is entitled to claim any money left inside! Most will email to give you some warning of this but I’d rather not leave that to chance and let the bookies make off with my not-so-heard-earned cash. Spend an hour or two logging into every one of your bookie accounts and withdraw anything you find left behind. If you’re below the minimum withdrawal amount just deposit £10 and then withdraw the lot. I did this recently and found £50 just sat in an old bingo account where I’d obviously pre-bought tickets for a weekly jackpot game and then totally forgotten to go back afterwards.

  1. Hi guy,

I only started MB in the last few months and haven’t done all of the sign-up offers on P.A. I thought I would leave it until the footy season starts as I heard the bookies don’t like you betting on random events and would rather you stick to premier league etc.

Above you say to sign up to all the offers but does this out you at risk of having your accounts suspended?

    Thanks

    1. You should be ok betting on big horse races at the moment. Look for which are showing on Saturday afternoon ITV.

  2. Hi Guy – I’ve triggered the Starspins x% cashback on losses reward and ignored it. How do we then qualify for the other two offers or is it just chance that you will get one of the 3?

    1. The other 2 should come along at 1 week intervals. Once you’ve triggered the welcome back offers you just need to wait a week for the next one to be emailed through to you.
