How much can I make Matched Betting in a week

Edit 2019: This is an old post from the start of 2018. Some of the offers listed here are no longer active, instead I want to show you how many different types of offers you should be doing to consistently bring in a good monthly return. As old offers disappear new ones get released so it’s about adapting to whatever the current type of offers are.

Almost every day someone asks me how much money they can make Matched Betting, especially after completing all the signup offers.

Historically I’ve always totalled up my profits at the end of the month and posted a brief overview of the stand-out offers. Today I’ll post what I’ve been up to for the past 7 days to give an idea of the type and volume of bets placed in order to generate the sort of returns I post.

Remember that I’ve been doing this for over 2 years now and have a 5 figure exchange balance so can place a large number of bets at once. There’s nothing wrong with betting lesser amounts on some offers!

Some offers appear multiple times as they were avaliable on multiple days or various different games. All of these were done on a single set of accounts plus a couple of instore visits. Most of these were reload offers open to everyone.

I hope that gives you an idea of the sort of volume of offers you need to be tackling to reach the high levels of profit. There is nothing wrong however with putting in less time for less returns, its up to you to juggle the balance.

    1. I suspect it’s because im hidden in the crowd. Each bookie will only see the bets on their own site so to team I’m just placing 1 bet amongst a huge crowd of people also placing 1 bet. What they don’t see is that im also placing bets with 20 other bookies at the same time.

        1. I mean that the bets I place tend to be on popular matches so there will likely be thousands of other people placing the same sort of bets at the same time.

  1. Woah you have blown my mind! Seriously though. thanks for this post. Sometimes I think Matched Betting is a secret society that I am only peeking through the door at. I found this post really useful!

    1. Thank you Little Miss Fire.

I’m not sure its so secret anymore with all the guide sites out there!

  2. That’s a large amount of bets. What about mug bets and accas? If you bother with them, what ratio do you have?

P.S. You have really great blog here.

    1. I never bother with mug bets anymore. Most of the experienced matched bettors tend to agree that mug betting has no noticable difference on gubbing rates.

  3. Great post and quite time consuming writing all that down but what would be so interesting is if you gave us a breakdown of the winnings per offer and how long it took you to earn the above ? 😜

    1. Thanks Joe. It would be very difficult to give an accurate figure for how much each offer returns. I tend to do multiple offers on the same matches to help spread out the exchange liability and save on commission costs which makes it impossible to accuratly record exactly which bet returned how much profit/loss. In terms of time; I tend to spend a couple of hours every weekday, 10 hours on a Saturday and 6 on a Sunday.

  4. Hi guy _ do you recommend the bet 365 2 up offer , I know it can be valuable when it hits but what kind of strike rate do u expect on it or do you trade out when teams go 2 up thanks

  5. Hi guy can i ask what sort of match markets do you is it manily match odds or do you mix it up alot ie both teams to score, correct socore ect. Also when you win on the bookmaker is best to withdraw or leave it in and bet with it ubtil you need to deposit again. Love the blog keep the good work.

    1. I tend to stick to match odds as those are the most popular markets. It depends on the bookie, the bigger ones I’ll leave some money in there to save time however ill always withdraw from the smaller ones.

  6. Out of interest and completely understand you may not want to share this much info, but: How many accounts do you have for each bookie? I,e. how many people’s accounts do you have and are these mainly family members or do you pay friends etc to use their accounts?
    Thanks!

    1. Hello Harry,
All of those bets placed on this list were made from a single set of accounts. Alot of the offers allow you to repeat them multiple times such as the Bet365 2up offer and all the price boosts.

I have calculated that on average I believe you can make about 300-500 per set of account each month without going to high risk casino. You can earn alot more than that on a single set of accounts with high risk casino however there will be very high variance.

  7. hey guy, i see you had another great month, i was just curious what you go for when trying to get through casino wagering as there was quite alot of it in your log there. thanks, anna

    1. Hi Anna,

I will usually stick with £1 spins on a fairly low varance slot like Golden Tour, Frankie Dettori or Halloween Fortune. If the wagering is partiularly large I’ll go for some higher spin values on higher variance slots like Jurassic Park. If the wagering is very high compared to the bonus amount (like 35x wagering on a £1 bonus) I’ll just chuck the whole lot on green on Roulette and then swap to a slot to finish wagering if that wins.

  8. Great results Guy, could you give me an idea about how you go about your lunch time sharbs, do you do it most days and favour a bookie? (i have 4 Coral within 2 mile of me) never really used a bookie before but would be interesting to see how you go about it.
    Thanks Dan

  9. Sorry if already answered –

Do you mug bet? and how many mug bets per actual bet?

and do you, erm not sure of the term for this but do you bet less than the maximum amount available, for example – you could bet £50 and get a free £50 bet but you only bet £40 to go under the radar?

cheers, nice blog, will keep iit bookmarked.

    1. Hi Matty,

No I don’t mug bet. Common consensus seems to be that mug betting does little or no good whatsoever.

  10. Hello,

Can I ask where do you find these offers? Is there a particular match betting site you use?

    1. Hello Miis Hol,

Yes I am gubbed by a few however alot of the offers I do now such as the price boosts still work on gubbed accounts.

  11. Hi Guy,

It thing like 2 ups and bet returned if your horse looses i don’t understand how to decide what to do them on? Do you just post them on loads of games/horses with equal matched odds and hope at least one of them will go 2 up then loose / hope the horse looses? just surely u must lose money here and there if the game doesnt go 2 up?

    1. Hello Joanna,

Yes exactly; go for the best odds match and hope the offer triggers. I typically prefer to go for the underdogs on the 2ups because it seems the better teams are more likely to recovery from a 2-0nil lead. For horse racing refunds I’ll go for horses with odds of less than 10 and a qualifying bet loss of less than £1.80 per £25 refund. This type of offer is all about averages, so you may lose 3/4 of the bets but that 1/4 will make you more money than the 3/4 lost, if that makes sense.

  12. Hey Guy,

unfortunately, I don’t believe I have the time to commit, I did give it a trial a few years ago and dried up the opening account offers, probably making 500 or so in the process.

If I wanted to do 20% to tick in 100 or so a month on higher value offers, is there an easy way I could do this? I suspect with required subscriptions to PM etc, this would eat into profits? Do you know anyone that takes this sort of approach? Your numbers since starting the blog are crazy, I’m always tempted to get into these things but time always ends up being a big factor 🙁

    1. Hello Nick,

£100 a month should be incredibly easy just from the offers that get emailed to you. I still recommend signing up to the guide site though as they will be able to point out extra offers you may miss but only take a few minutes to complete.
